An artist with an international reputation is showing his works at Fresno Pacific University.

“A Piece of the Action” is the name of an exhibit by Larry Hill now showing in Ewert Gallery in the Warkentine Culture and Arts Center on the main campus, 4838 E. Butler Ave. The event is sponsored by the FPU Department of Art, Design and Creative Innovation and the Division of Visual and Performing Arts.

American artist Larry Hill found his passion for art at an early age. Known for his abstract expressionism, Hill found early inspiration from the contemporary masters Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline and Willem de Kooning. For Hill, a painting must have an initial dramatic impact and at second glance should include tantalizing nuances of drawing and gestures to stay alive. His rich and textured abstract pieces expertly adhere to this ethos and are both dramatic and captivating. Hill's artworks have been displayed, published and collected worldwide since the 1960s.

The exhibit continues through December 1, 2023. Admission is free and the public is invited.
