    Intramurals host a night at Skywalk Arena (Video link)

    Students and guests enjoyed a night of fun and community at the Skywalk Trampoline Arena. On the evening of February 12 students made the most of the trampoline floors, a foam pit and a dodge ball arena, all in the name of camaraderie and in the anticipation of the upcoming Intramural spring games.

    Resume Rush equips students with resume-building skills (video link)

    In Resume Rush, students learned vital resume-building and etiquette skills to prepare for future careers. Participants were also able to sign up for mock interviews in order to practice their interviewing skills.

    On February 12 the Career Services Center featured the Career Achievement Program, or CAP, where upcoming graduates learn about finding a good job after graduation. Jackie Kennedy Harris, from Enterprise, gave students  the employer’s point of view and talked about what stands out in a good resume. If you are a student or an alumni take advantage of the great tools the Career Services Center has to offer. The center is located in the Student Life Office. Stop by to find out more information or to make an appointment, and check out upcoming events such as Mix, Mingle and Network!, where students learn successful strategies and the power of networking to get a job.

    Randy White, D. Min.

    Randy White, D. Min, spoke at a conference connected to the 61st National Prayer Breakfast February 7 in Washington D.C. He also attended the prayer breakfast, which is attended by the President of the United States, as well as leaders from throughout the world. At the conference, White spoke on mechanisms for uniting communities for transformation, as well as ways of seeing cities through the eyes of God. His co-presenters included Bill Milliken of Communities in Schools, Art Erickson of Urban Ventures in Minneapolis and several other key leaders. While in Washington, Randy also sought to influence the conversation on comprehensive immigration reform. Congratulations, Randy, on this great honor!

    Women's volleyball team celebrates a season of accomplishments (video link)

    Members of the Sunbird women's volleyball team and their families shared a meal, stories and awards February 1 at the team banquet.     Two men's basketball players named Player of the Week (video link)

    For two consecutive weeks, two of Fresno Pacific's own were named Pacific West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Antonio Credit, senior forward and center, received the accolade the week of January 14-20 and Malcolm Griffin, junior guard and forward, was honored January 21-27.     A celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. was held at the Wiebe Education Center on the main campus to remember King's dream and his message of peace. At the January 26 event, students participated in group activities and local guest speakers talked about how to apply King's message to our daily lives.

    Middle school students "Battle" it out in literary competition (video link)

    Middle schools from around the Valley participated in this year's Battle of the Books in Ashley Auditorium January 25. Students square off in game-show-style competitions to test their knowledge of selected books they have read. FPU has hosted the area Battle of the Books for eight years.
