Lynn Jost appointed Academic Dean of MB Biblical Seminary

Dr. Lynn Jost has been appointed Academic Dean and Associate Professor of Old Testament for MB Biblical Seminary. He will join the Seminary on July 1, 2006.

Lynn, a graduate of MB Biblical Seminary, is currently Professor of Biblical Studies at Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS where he has served on the faculty for thirteen years. Prior to that, he was pastor of the Hesston, Kansas Mennonite Brethren Church for eight years. He has been deeply involved in many levels of Mennonite Brethren conference work. He chaired the committee that revised the North American Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, and was involved in the development of a confession of faith for the International Committee of Mennonite Brethren.

Lynn replaces James Pankratz as academic dean. Pankratz will leave MB Biblical Seminary December 31 to assume the role of Academic Dean at Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo, Ontario.

"Lynn brings strong intellectual gifts, good teaching skills, pastoral experience, and significant conference leadership. He will be a quick study in the role of Academic Dean," says Jim Holm, President of MB Biblical Seminary.

As Academic Dean, Lynn will oversee academic programs for the MB Biblical Seminary system, which includes campuses in Fresno California, Langley British Columbia and Winnipeg Manitoba. MB Biblical Seminary inspires and equips men and women to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and to serve and lead in the church and the world.

Lynn and his wife Donna have two grown children.
