First came the fifth annual Summer Camp Fair the afternoon of January 26. Representatives from seven camps from all over California set up booths in the Steinert Campus Center lobby to offer the FPU students summer jobs. Included were: Camp Oakhurst, Sugar Pine Christian Camps, Jenness Park Christian Camp, Mount Herman Christian Camp and Conference Center, Mission Springs Camp, Olizu Camp and Silver Spur Christian Camp.
Then on January 27, the FPU guys were a part of a very different kind of camp—Man Camp. Male students, staff and faculty drove to Calvin Crest campground for competition, worship and community. The theme for the trip was Conflict and they discussed the conflict men face between their flesh and spirit.
The theme verse was Romans 8:5:
"Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."
