MFT student Jason Kinzel to speak at national conference

Jason Kinzel, a student in the M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy program at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, has been selected to speak at the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS) national conference March 14, 2020, in Atlanta, GA. He will present findings from his senior paper, Integrating Sex Offenders into a Church Safely and Effectively. Kinzel’s application was sponsored by David Bruce Rose, Ph.D., associate professor of MFT, listed as Jason’s co-presenter.

“Jason had hoped to secure a spot at the conference’s poster session. To be chosen instead as a speaker at an invited lecture session is truly an honor,” said Cynthia McGrady, Ph.D., associate professor and MFT program director.

According to the summary:Many find it extremely difficult to determine how to integrate sex offenders into the church. With community as a primary predictor for low recidivism rates among sex offenders, this workshop discusses ways to help churches consider working effectively and safely with offenders.”
