In a highly competitive national program, two Fresno Pacific University faculty members have been recognized by The Lilly Network of Church-Related Colleges and Universities.

Whitney Wall Bortz, Ph.D., and Chris Janzen, M.F.A., have been named Lilly Faculty Fellows after being selected from 26 teams competing for just six spots nationwide. The Lilly Faculty Fellows Program is a two-year fellowship that includes four conferences as well as $8,000 in start-up funds to conduct a faculty development program on the FPU campus.

“This recognition affirms the exceptional level of dedication and mission-centric calling we see in our faculty across campus,” said Alison Noble, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “Whitney and Chris are great examples of our pursuit of excellence through Christ-centered higher education. Their selection as Lilly Faculty Fellows highlights their individual excellence and the strength of our academic community.”

The selection of Wall Bortz and Janzen places Fresno Pacific University among a select group of institutions participating in the prestigious fellowship program.

In its acceptance letter, The Lilly Network congratulated Fresno Pacific University on its leadership in mission and vocation, noting that the personal leadership of Wall Bortz and Janzen earned them a place in the national Faculty Fellowship program.
