FPU becomes “Stewardship University” March 23

Helping people manage choices, skills and gifts in ways that integrate Christian faith with financial responsibility is the goal of an educational and spiritual program coming to Fresno Pacific University March 23.

Stewardship University, sponsored by Mennonite Mutual Aid, offers four-hour seminars on key stewardship topics:

  • Highly practical personal and family budgeting, that will be taught in English and Spanish.
  • Budgeting for couples when they need it most – before they marry.
  • Extravagant stewardship and responding to God with gratitude.
  • Stewardship for the soul, facing reality, and engaging in kingdom building.

Registration will be at 9 a.m., with worship at 9:30 a.m. and workshops beginning at 10:15 a.m. All activities are in the Special Events Center on the FPU campus.

The concept of stewardship education is drawn from "firstfruits" theology: the idea that God gives us all things, and our lives are to be a response to this generosity. Stewardship University's mission is to help people develop their response to God's generosity. Instructors are leaders in their fields and the courses are meant to challenge the intellect and engage the spirit.

The cost is $29 per student, with group and advance registration discounts available. For more information, call 1-800-348-7458, ext. 576. Register on-line at stewardship@mma-online.org.

MMA helps Anabaptists and others practice biblical stewardship through its expertise in insurance, financial services, charitable-giving programs and educational resources. The Anabaptist faith tradition includes Mennonite Brethren, Mennonite and Missionary denominations.
