Understanding the “most misunderstood Gospel” will be the aim of the 2024 Janzen Lectureship in Biblical Studies.

“Mark: The Most Misunderstood Gospel” is the title of a series by Tim Geddert, Ph.D., emeritus professor of New Testament at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary. The lectureship will be March 21-23, hosted by the Fresno Pacific University Biblical & Religious Studies Division and North Fresno Church.

About the speaker
Tim Geddert, Ph.D., was born and raised in Canada. He has written numerous books in English and German and been a resource to churches and schools in many countries. His primary ministry has been teaching New Testament at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary from 1986 through 2023. The Gospel of Mark has been his specialty, and he continues to be astonished at Mark’s artistry and theological depth.

About the Janzen Lectureship 
The Edmund Janzen Lectureship in Biblical Studies promotes care­ful scholarship in biblical interpretation as well as the witness of the Christian church among university faculty and students, pastors and lay leaders. The lectureship is made possible through an endowment honoring the 35 years Edmund Janzen served Fresno Pacific as president and faculty member and reflects the value Janzen taught his students.
