A gift of over $150,000 in equipment and other materials will benefit nursing education at Fresno Pacific University.

Medical Ministries International made the donation, delivered to FPU’s North Fresno Campus in February. Items include:

  • Safe patient handling equipment: lifts, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers
  • Bedside equipment: IV poles, feeding pumps, bedside tables, basinets, beds, hampers, linen,
  • Supplies of many of the consumables needed to run the labs

“All the items will be used to create the experiential learning environment for nursing students,” said Alexis Ramirez, DNP, associate professor of nursing and assistant program director for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. “The Lord has done exceedingly and abundantly more than I have asked through this organization and their ministry. I truly want to give God the glory in recognizing this organization and their ministry,” she said.

Based in Fresno, Medical Ministries International helps thousands of people around the world by shipping domestic surplus medical equipment that would otherwise be thrown away to places around the world that can use it to save lives. The donation was inspired by the contribution of beds, a crash cart and a gurney by Adventist Health in November 2021 when Adventist Facilities Manager Tammy Gonzalez told Ramirez about MMI.
