They came from as far away as Monterey, 52 school districts looking for teachers and finding them at the Fresno Pacific University Teacher Job Fair Thursday, March 17. Tables for interviews jammed the Special Events Center on the main campus and spilled over into the entryways and even outside. While mathematics and special education candidates were in particular demand, schools are looking for teachers at all levels and in many subjects as a generation of educators retires and expanded budgets allow for new positions, according to School of Education representatives. Some FPU candidates received job offers at the event, and many more are expected to get contracts in the coming weeks.
