A weekend of the best in Christian music will be the stuff of the next Pacific Artist Series from Fresno Pacific University.

As part of the university’s hosting of the 2022 National Conference of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC) March 25-26, two concerts of music by fellowship members will be presented:

Both concerts will be in Butler Church, 4884 E. Butler Ave., Fresno. All performers will be FPU students. More information at fresno.edu/pacificartist

The Pacific Artists Series is the flagship cycle of concerts presented by Fresno Pacific University Music Department. The series brings a variety of musical styles and genres to Fresno and the Valley. Notable past performers have included Janai Brugger (soprano), Rong-Huey Liu (oboe), Francesca Dego (violin), Eugene Friesen (cello), Ruta Bloomfield (harpsichord), Andrew Funk (bass), Del Sol Quartet and many more. FPU faculty and graduates have also presented concerts.

CFAMC seeks to glorify Jesus Christ by encouraging Christian composers of symphonic and chamber music, opera and other concert works. “We pray that believers will embrace our musical integrity because of our Christian witness, and that our commitment to musical excellence will allow us to bring our Christian witness to the wider art music world,” according to its website. Members include professional and academic composers (faculty and students), avocational composers, church musicians interested in art music both in the United States and abroad. Please note: The safety of our community and guests is a priority. All visitors must comply with the established guidelines, including social distancing. Face masks are recommended while in the church sanctuary. FPU reserves the right to adjust these guidelines as federal, state and local policies change.
