Though it took place on the eve of Fresno’s COVID-19 shelter-in-place, the Social Enterprise EXPO hosted by FPU’s Center for Community Transformation started something good, organizers say. “Having broken new social and economic ground in our city by creating a social enterprise ecosystem, the CCT continues to expand the category with these such events, hopefully the first of many to come. After shelter-in-place ends, of course!” said Randy White, D.Min., executive director of CCT.

The event took place Friday, March 13, 2020, and highlighted several winners of CCT’s Spark Tank Pitch Fest and other social enterprises. One of those winners was the host, Cornerstone Coffee Co., 1463 Fulton St., Fresno. Other featured social enterprises and more on the EXPO at cctfresno.org/valleys-first-social-enterprise-expo-a-success/.

The Spark Tank Pitch Fest is the Valley’s only event of its kind, empowering community members to solve community problems through social enterprises that have a financially profitable revenue stream, a measurable and managed social impact goal and a plan to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
