MB Biblical Seminary to reach thousands with online 2010 Lent Devotional Guide
The online devotional booklet for the 2010 pre-Easter season is available thanks to the faculty, staff, and students of the MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, CA.
The devotional runs from Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, to the day after Easter, Monday, April 5.
"The Lenten season prepares us for the celebration of Easter. This is a special time of focusing on our life with Jesus, hence the title—Walking with Jesus in Faithfulness," says Lynn Jost, President of MB Biblical Seminary. He adds, "Jesus' walk of faithfulness took him to the cross. Along the way Jesus calls his followers to take up their cross. This devotional guide is a roadmap for the walk of the faithful."
The 50-day guide, Walking in Faithfulness with Jesus, written by faculty, staff and students, reflects each one's personal walk of faithfulness as they consider the text of the Bible for each day.
"Offering a devotional like this to our constituents and the public is more than just a way of staying connected," says Mark Isaac, the seminary's director of Advancement and Constituency Relations. "It reflects our mission of inspiring and equipping people to live as followers of Jesus."
Officials say their 2009 Advent Devotions had an expanded coverage from the previous year, with over 500 people subscribing to the daily devotional email, 800 visitors to the website in the first day, and another 150 downloading it to their android phones through an application created by a friend of the seminary. The devotional was distributed electronically to over 400 churches.
