FPU art students go national

Success at the local and district level paved the way for four Fresno Pacific University art students to enter the nation’s largest advertising contest.

By winning gold or silver awards at the District 14 American Advertising Awards in San Francisco March 18-19, Alina Gutridge, Gabriel Rios, Dominic Olvera and Maya Arthur became eligible for the national awards, to be announced in May and celebrated at the AAW National Gala June 7 in Anaheim. Each student also took home gold or silver at the 2016 Fresno Advertising Federation Awards, presented March 4.

District 14 covers northern California and northern Nevada. All competitions are sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. The awards, formerly the ADDYs, attract over 40,000 entries each year in local AAF contests.
