President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., was among those scooping out the goodies during the April 8 event in Shehadey Dining Hall. Polo shirts were also given out to the many from departments across campus who helped prepare for the visit. Stephen Varvis, Ph.D., provost, and Linda Pryce Sheehan, Ed.D., associate dean for accreditation and registrar, led the effort.

As part of its regular reaccreditation process, a group from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges visited March 20-22 to examine FPU's progress on previous recommendations and work toward continuing improvement. Fresno Pacific has been accredited since 1965.

The WASC team, made up of officials from other colleges and universities, gave FPU eight commendations and five recommendations. Menjares, who has been involved with WASC for close to 20 years, called this an outstanding response.
