Christopher Henry Young, an actor with the national touring company of Hamilton, led a workshop for FPU student-performers April 9 while that musical was playing in Fresno. Students from University High School in Fresno also attended. Brandi Martin, MFA, director of the FPU theater program, coordinated the event in Butler Church, adjacent to the main university campus. Pictured, FPU student Alexander Lujan (left), portraying Donkey from the musical Shrek, sings to Young (seated). Donald Munro, a Valley arts writer, wrote an article on the workshop: munroreview.com/2022/04/09/for-these-theater-students-a-visit-from-a-hamilton-cast-member-is-a-chance-to-connect-to-the-professional-world/. He also reviewed FPU’s spring musical, Ordinary Days, which Martin directed and included Lujan in the cast: munroreview.com/2022/04/09/theater-review-fresno-pacifics-ordinary-days-offers-a-minimalist-testament-to-the-power-of-a-beautifully-written-musical/
