More than 400 students to graduate from Fresno Pacific University

Some 416 students are expected to receive degrees during the 56th commencement at Fresno Pacific University. Ceremonies will be May 5 in the Special Events Center on campus.

The college commencement (traditional undergraduate) will be at 9:30 a.m. and will have approximately 175 graduates. The student speaker will be Cathy Taylor, student body president. The Fresno Pacific Graduate School and Center for Degree Completion commencement will be at 3:30 p.m. and will have approximately 241 graduates. Graduates Renee Soto and Vickie Bigler will give the CDC and graduate school addresses respectively.

Howard Loewen, FPU provost, will give the commencement address for both ceremonies and his talk will be titled "Signposts for the Journey." Loewen has a bachelor of arts from the University of Winnipeg, a bachelor of theology from Mennonite Brethren Bible College and College of Arts, a master's in divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and a doctorate from Fuller.
