Money magazine rates Fresno Pacific University number 11 among Best Colleges for Transfer Students, and is the highest-rated Christian school on the list. “At these 50 colleges, transfer students do as well as—or better than—their peers on campus,” according to the magazine.
FPU demonstrates its commitment to transfer students through its two-year graduation guarantee. “These students are a vital part of university life on all FPU campuses,” said Jon Endicott, vice president of enrollment management. “Whether they come to us in their 20s as traditional students or in their 40s with family and workplace responsibilities, we help them make their education possible. Often these are the very students who learn in the communities where they live and work, contributing to the success of the Valley as well as themselves and their families.”
Transfer students attend all FPU campuses: Merced, North Fresno, Southeast Fresno, Visalia and Bakersfield. Students in bachelor’s degree completion programs, aimed at working adults, are required to have previous college experience. Transfers also made up 36 percent of FPU’s new students in the fall 2018 traditional undergraduate program.
Nationally, transfer students are a major part of higher education. More than one-third of freshmen will switch colleges at least once while working toward a degree, according to Money.
