Each May Fresno Pacific University honors two outstanding graduating seniors from the traditional undergraduate program.
The student with the highest grade point average, at 4.0 on a four-point scale, went to Reilly Elizabeth Reis, Hanford, B.A. in Liberal Studies. “This level of academic performance is very difficult to maintain, since every student must take classes from a broad range of disciplines,” Karen Cianci, Ph.D., dean of the traditional undergraduate program as well as the School of Natural Sciences, said during the May 4 presentation in the office of President Richard Kriegbaum, Ph.D.
Winning the Harold H. Haak Academic Achievement Award was Alexander Taj Hussain, who double majored in contemporary Christian ministries and business administration—management and organizational studies emphasis. Hussain is from Salinas. The Haak award goes to a member of the university’s Alpha Chi honor society who has made a significant contribution to the university, community and church and shows promise for future success. The award was created by Betty Haak and the family of the late president Harold H. Haak, Ph.D.
