Goals go beyond rote learning to develop personal responsibility, including effective practice habits, mutual respect and conceptual education.

Programs include woodwinds, brass, strings, voice, piano, musical theater, contemporary worship, electives, jazz, chamber ensembles and composition. Professor of Music Walter Saul, D.M.A., is the camp director. To register or for more information, contact Saul at 559-453-2012, walter.saul@fresno.edu or here.

Theater Camp

The YES! Project
July 3-26

Fresno Pacific University and the Woodward Shakespeare Festival (WSF) will co-host Youth Engage Shakespeare (YES)!, a workshop built around WSF’s summer Shakespeare season. Activities will include games, practice Shakespeare-style, learning scenes and exploring creative voices by devising original scenes in response to the play. The workshop culminates with a public performance on the WSF stage in Woodward Park.

Open to students entering, attending or just graduating from high school. No prior theater or Shakespeare experience necessary, but participants must commit to attend all sessions, rehearsals and performances. Julia Reimer, Ph.D., director of the FPU theater program, is the camp director and facilitator. For more information, contact Reimer at julia.reimer@fresno.edu. Register here.
