Members of the Fresno Pacific University community gathered for Prayers at the Cross in response to terrorist attacks around the world and especially those in Florida.

Faculty, staff, students and others met at noon Wednesday, June 15, 2016, around the cross in Alumni Plaza on the main campus. Speakers included Angulus Wilson, Ph.D., university pastor and dean of spiritual formation, and Brian Davis, director of student ministries.

The group read a responsive prayer and lifted individual prayers for those affected by tragedies including the attack at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL, June 12. Families of victims; law enforcement, emergency and medical personnel; journalists; elected leaders and clergy were included.

The group prayer concluded: “In darkness and in light, in trouble and in joy, help us, O God, to trust your love, to seek your purpose, and to praise your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
