Claire Samuelson received a national research spotlight from Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. Her presentation, “Tolkein and War: The Effect of WWI on The Lord of the Rings” among those meant for the May national conference, which was cancelled due to COVID-19, was instead done online and is available more broadly. Samuelson, a senior in fall 2020, is majoring in intercultural studies with an emphasis in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). She is from Coarsegold. This is the third year in a row an FPU student has been highlighted nationally.
