Visalia Campus partners in community food distribution

Joining a community effort, the Fresno Pacific University Visalia Campus distributed 648 boxes of fresh produce and other food June 12, 2020. FPU hosted the event in partnership with CityServe, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Seven Oaks Church. This group is part of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program, bringing locally grown and produced food to local families. The Visalia Campus became involved through collaboration between Raquel Garcia, assistant director of community development, and Seven Oaks Pastor Jason LeFaive. Visalia Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Gail Zurek also supported the event and volunteered for the entire giveaway.
