June 2018 Alumni Update

Franchesca Bawks (BA ’17) has been accepted to the clinical rehabilitation and mental health counseling program at California State University Fresno. This graduate program has been ranked nationally in the Top 25 by U.S. News & World Report.

Elaine Yanez (TC ’17, BA ’13) was named Teacher of the Year at Malaga Elementary School in Fowler Unified School District.

Aaron Sanchez (BA ’16) is a regional manager for Grand Canyon University in Central California.

Chale Wesson (BA ’16) was honored as part of Fresno City Council’s 2018 Women of the Year celebration March 23, 2018.

Carlanda Williams (TC ’14) has been featured on the cover of California Educator magazine for her use of Whole Brain Teaching. She earned her preliminary mild/moderate education specialist and add-on multiple subjects credentials and is now an instructional coach for Fresno Unified School District. californiaeducator.org/2018/06/20/whole-brain-teaching/

Walt McCarthy (BA ’82) works at Clark County School District as a special education teacher specializing in students with autism.
