Teenagers interested in theater are invited to spend a week with the master himself—William Shakespeare—at Fresno Pacific University’s 2022 Drama Camp.

The Shakespeare Intensive will be from August 8-12 on the main FPU campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno, with a student showcase in the Warkentine Culture & Arts Center, Fresno’s newest performance venue. Register at eventbrite.com/e/youth-drama-camp-tickets-349776961307

Interest is important, experience not so much as participants practice drama games, warm-up exercises, vocal techniques as well as creating characters and learning theater history, all through the lens of Shakespeare through scenes and monologues. There will be a Shakespeare film each day and a box lunch will be provided.

Instruction will be by Brandi martin, MFA, director of the FPU Theater Program, and special guest artist Blake Ellis. Students ages 13-18 are welcome and camp hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday. Friday’s student showcase begins at 2:00 p.m. and is open to all with no admission charge.
