Incoming STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) students created their own planets, complete with environment and sentient life during an event hosted by the FPU School of Natural Sciences (aka the Superior Trans-Eridani Macro-Alliance).

Working in small groups, 60 students gave presentations describing a planet within the fictional(?) Eridani System, including geography, topography, habitat, sentient beings, technology, art and language. Shehadey Dining Hall was decorated with a Star Wars theme, and there was a lunch-time drama. In addition, there was a science camp for 32 siblings of the students, and 71 parents were present.

The event took place Saturday, July 14, 2018, on the main campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno. More from TV station ABC 30: abc30.com/stem-college-students-getting-a-head-start-over-the-weekend/3764764/
