National association honors FPU swimmers

A group of Sunbirds has been honored by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The CSCAA gave the women’s swimming and diving team its Scholar All-America Award. In addition, eight members of the men’s and women’s squads were selected to the Scholar All-America Team:

  • Bavindeep Basra, Brampton, ON, Canada
  • Kaylee Cooper, Central Point, OR
  • Austin Hussain, Salinas, CA
  • Collin Moore, Paso Robles, CA
  • Daria Belova Moscow, Russia
  • Hannah Freeman, Clovis, CA
  • Kyle Jones, Coeur d’Alene, ID
  • Olga Tovstogan, Kyiv, Ukraine

To qualify for the team, student-athletes must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher while exceeding NCAA qualifying levels. “Thanks to your investment and the effort of coach (Josh) Christensen, Fresno Pacific is equipping its swimmers and divers with confidence, courage, perseverance and teamwork that will produce proud graduates and loyal alumni,” states the notification letter signed by Joel Shinofield, CSCCA executive director, and Clark Campbell, CSCCA president and head swimming coach at the University of Kansas.
