Guaranteed admission to Fresno Pacific University will now be available for students from several Valley colleges. Fresno Pacific will formalize these partnerships with four State Center Community College District (SCCCD) colleges during a signing ceremony Monday, August 31, 2026.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Warkentine Culture and Arts Center, located at the FPU Main Campus, 4838 E. Butler Ave., Fresno. Members of the media are invited to attend the signing ceremony.

FPU President Dr. André Stephens will participate in individual signings with the presidents of Madera Community College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College and Fresno City College. These agreements are part of FPU’s Sunbird Flight Plan: Direct Route to Admission, an expanding initiative that provides guaranteed admission for community college students to Fresno Pacific.

The partnerships allow students who complete at least 24 transferable units with a minimum 2.4 GPA to be guaranteed admission to FPU. Certain programs, including nursing and social work, have additional program-specific admission requirements.

“These partnerships strengthen the educational opportunities available to students throughout the Central Valley,” said Dr. Stephens. “By working together, we can create clear pathways for students to continue their education at Fresno Pacific, grow in knowledge, faith and purpose, and prepare for meaningful careers and lives of service.”

“These agreements help remove uncertainty from the transfer process and affirm our shared commitment to student success,” said Dr. Carole Goldsmith, SCCCD Chancellor. “Together with Fresno Pacific University, we are expanding access to higher education and creating new opportunities for students to earn degrees and build meaningful, inspired futures.”

The Sunbird Flight Plan was designed to make the path to a bachelor’s degree clearer, more affordable and more efficient.
