The Emerald Duo consists of Dieter Wulfhorst, cello, and Susan Doering, violin. Wulfhorst has performed extensively in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral performer. A winner of the Homer Ulrich Competition and four consecutive Guarneri Fellowships, he was awarded the M.M. and D.M.A. from the University of Maryland. Wulfhorst is interim principal cellist with the Fresno Philharmonic. He joined the FPU music faculty full time this fall. Doering has performed widely throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East as a soloist, recitalist, chamber and orchestral musician. She received her D.M.A. from the University of Maryland, where she studied with the Guarneri Quartet. Doering performs with the Fresno Philharmonic, teaches violin and viola at FPU and maintains a music therapy practice. Her recordings are available on the Centaur and Albany labels.

Duo Colibrí formed in 2005. This Latin-classical flute and guitar ensemble specializes in folk and dance music from various Latin cultures, some of which influenced classical music. Based in San Diego, the two have traveled extensively. Tiffany Weller Covell, flute, received her master's from San Diego State University and her bachelors from FPU. Magdalena Loza Flores, guitar, received her B.M. from San Diego State. She has performed in Australia, Mexico and the United States.

Milton Friesen, baritone, is a church musician, educator and soloist. He joined the FPU faculty in 2006 and directs the vocal-instrumental ensemble Crosswind. Friesen earned a B.A. from State University of New York-Purchase and an M.A. from CSU Fresno. He served as worship arts pastor at Visalia United Methodist Church and Crossroads Community Church, Visalia, as well as choir director at Bethany Mennonite Brethren Church, Fresno. Walter Saul, piano faculty, is accompanist.

Walter Saul and Dennis Plies are the Tabor Duo. Saul, piano, has a B.A. from Duke University and an M.M. and D.M.A. from Eastman School of Music. He teaches piano, theory and composition at FPU. Named composer of the year in North Carolina and in Oregon, Saul's compositions have been performed in 16 states and three nations. His works have won ASCAP awards annually since 1990. As a pianist, Saul has performed and presented clinics on both coasts. Saul has released three CDs of his works: "Out of Darkness Into His Marvelous Light," "From Alpha to Omega" and "Songs of Requited Love." Plies, marimba, received his B.A. in organ performance at Biola University, B.M. and M.M. from American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, and doctor of arts in music from Western Colorado University. He has been named faculty of the year three times at Warner Pacific College, where he has taught for more than 25 years.
