The music begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19, with the Guastavino Trio: Jane Shelly, flute; Tom Hudson, cello; and Sara Kohane, piano. The group has been heard throughout Greater New York City and Connecticut, as well as at the American Church in Paris.
All concerts will be in the McDonald Hall Atrium on the main FPU campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno (intersection of Chestnut and Butler avenues). Admission is $12 for general audiences, $8 for senior citizens and $5 for students and members of the university community. - Tromba Musica brass quintet at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013. Established in 2008 by Cooper Walden and Elisha Wilson, Tromba Musica is a group of professional brass musicians from around the Central Valley who come together in different combinations to create a dynamic sound. The group has a reputation for delivering music that captures any audience and delights all ears with the glorious sound of brass playing at its finest.
- Walter B. Saul II, D.M.A., FPU professor of music, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014. Saul is a distinguished pianist and composer. He has received 23 ASCAP awards and his works have been performed in Carnegie Hall as well as in 20 states and four nations. He has performed both books of Bach's Well-tempered Clavier from memory, and has written From Alpha to Omega, his own volume of 24 preludes and fugues in all the major and minor keys.
- Winds of the San Joaquin woodwind ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014. One of Central California's premier chamber ensembles, Winds of the San Joaquin was founded in 1998 and the instant chemistry and blend of the performers has enabled the group, whose repertoire ranges from classical to pop, to establish itself as a presence in the musical culture of the region.
- Julie Carter, vocalist, and Rudell Joy Gaje, piano, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014. An accomplished soprano soloist and choral adjudicator, Carter is the artistic director and founder of Soli Deo Gloria women's chorale and is in her 23rdyear as director of worship and music at First Presbyterian Church, Fresno. She has taught at FPU and California State University, Fresno. Gaje has an M.M. from CSUF and a B.M. from Philippine Women's University.
