Fresno Pacific University President Joseph Jones, Ph.D., and First Lady Yvette Jones visited FPU regional campuses to meet and greet students, faculty, staff and community members in August and September.
Visits to the four campuses—Merced, Bakersfield, North Fresno and Visalia—included receptions featuring light refreshments and took place in the late afternoon-early evening to accommodate both students and community members. Classes at all regional campuses take place in the evenings so those with work and family responsibilities can earn their bachelor’s or master’s degree.
“Yvette and I are humbled by the commitment of our faculty and staff in these locations. Students were enthusiastic about returning to campus, and many expressed how much they loved being at Fresno Pacific. Their response reflects the caring of our community for many of them while in a virtual setting. It was very clear that students love the university because they feel loved by our full and part-time faculty and staff,” President Jones said.
“Our staff at the regional campuses were very excited to host our president and first lady, and to provide a welcoming environment for both students and staff as they arrived for classes. Each campus has its own identity and that was reflected in the unique presentation to welcome our guests! The feedback we received from students indicates that connection to the main campus and to our university leaders is important, and the opportunity to interact with our president and first lady was so appreciated,” said Denise Baronian, executive director of regional enrollment.
