God’s role when tragedy strikes and the reality of Satan are the topics of two upcoming presentations by author, pastor and theologian Greg Boyd at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary.
“Is Satan Real?” is the title of a public event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, in the seminary chapel. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation, including a question-and-answer session, at 7:00 p.m. “Is God to Blame?” is the name and subject of a breakfast for pastors and community members beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, in BC Lounge.
Both rooms are in North Hall at FPBS, part of the Fresno Pacific University main campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno. The Tuesday evening event is free and admission to the Wednesday breakfast is $20.
Founder and senior pastor of Woodland Hills Church, Maplewood, MN, Boyd is president of ReKnew, a ministry that exists to “encourage believers and skeptics alike to re-think things they thought they already knew,” according to its website (renew.org)
Boyd received his Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary and taught for 16 years at Bethel University, St Paul, MN. He is a professor in Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary’s new online M.A. in Ministry, Leadership and Culture degree. He is an internationally recognized theologian, preacher, teacher, apologist and author. He has authored or co-authored 20 books, including the best-selling and award-winning Letters From a Skeptic and his most recent work, Benefit of the Doubt.
