Conference celebrates connection between Pacific District Conference and Fresno Pacific University

"Celebrating 25 Years of Partnership" between the Pacific District Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches and Fresno Pacific University is the title of a banquet at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, in the university's Special Events Center.

The banquet is part of the PDC conference, which will take place November 4-5 on the campus. The title is in reference to the district's 1979 official acceptance of FPU (then Fresno Pacific College) as its regional school. "To the College's President, Edmund Janzen, the faculty, the staff and the student body, we pledge our prayers and guidance," stated the declaration.

Janzen, president from 1975-1985 and faculty from 1968-2003, will be the guest speaker at the banquet and host a book-signing. Students and alumni will also make presentations, and FPU instrumental and vocal musicians will perform.

The Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches includes 121 congregations from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Utah. FresnoPacific Universityoffers undergraduate and graduate programs that stress solid academic preparation and a strong ethical foundation. More than 2,000 traditional and adult students attend classes on the 42-acre main campus in southeast Fresno or centers in North Fresno, Visalia and Bakersfield.
