Place and program equal excellent performance for two Fresno Pacific University ensembles

Place and program combine for a moving performance in a concert by two Fresno Pacific University ensembles.

Musica Pacifica Baroque Orchestra and Pacific Chamber Singers perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, in St. Ann Chapel on the campus of San Joaquin Memorial High School at McKinley and Fresno streets, Fresno. Admission is free.

With its baroque-inspired interior, the chapel is the perfect setting for the concert, featuring works by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and diLasso. The 14-piece baroque orchestra is conducted by Wayne Huber and the 15-voice chamber choir by Roy Klassen.

The orchestra program consists of "Sonata No. 1" (solo organ by student Beverly Hyatt) and "Brandenburg Concerto No. 4," both by J. S. Bach, "Autumn" from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi and "Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major" by W.A. Mozart. The chamber singers will perform "Puisque J'ai Perdu," a 16th-century mass by Orlando di Lasso, "Esto Les Digo" by Kinley Lange, "With One Voice" by Mark Singleton, "Taste and See" by Kenneth W. Louis and "Irish Blessing" by Bob Chilcott.
