Love, mistaken identity and social standing are among the themes played for laughs in the fall Mainstage play at Fresno Pacific University.
Changes of Heart (The Double Inconstancy) will be performed at 8:00 p.m. November 12-14 and 19-21, 2015, in North Hall 123 (Seminary Chapel) on the main FPU campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno. The French comedy, written by Pierre Carlet de Marivaux and translated and adapted by Stephen Wadsworth, finds Silvia kidnapped by a prince and pursued by her fiancé Harlequin. But who are the day’s true heroes and villains—and what of this officer of the palace?
The cast includes Chris Deleon, a senior from Fresno, as Harlequin; Annelise Escobedo, a junior from Clovis, as Silvia; Maria Monreal, a junior from Fresno, as Flamina; Meghan Barrett, a sophomore from Bakersfield, as Lisette; Garrison Bennett, a senior from Reedley, as The Prince; Allison Calhoun, a sophomore from Lemoore, as Trivelin; and Edgar Olivera, a 2010 graduate from Fresno, as a Lord. Also in the cast are Lysa Sanders (freshman, Visalia), Kaylee Merritt (junior, Kingsburg), Karen Vargas (sophomore, Tulare) and Juana Moreno Martinez (freshman, Lindsay). Julia Reimer, Ph.D., associate professor of theater, is the director.
