Fresno Unified School District students now have a more direct pathway to higher education through a new partnership with Fresno Pacific University. The agreement provides guaranteed admission for eligible students, scholarship opportunities and additional support to help students and families navigate the college admission process.
Leaders from Fresno Pacific and Fresno Unified celebrated the new partnership with a signing ceremony on October 30, 2026. The agreement is part of FPU’s Sunbird Flight Plan initiative, designed to help more Central Valley students prepare for college and pursue a degree at FPU.
“We are grateful for our guaranteed admission agreement with Fresno Pacific University and the opportunities it creates for our students,” said Superintendent Misty Her. “This partnership provides a clearer path to higher education and reinforces our commitment to ensuring every student is not only college and career ready, but also equipped with the opportunities to pursue their goals.”
Under the agreement, Fresno Unified students who earn a minimum 3.0 weighted cumulative GPA and complete the required application process are guaranteed admission to Fresno Pacific. Students interested in certain programs, including nursing and social work, must meet additional admission requirements.
Eligible students enrolling directly into FPU’s traditional undergraduate program can receive annual academic scholarships, along with opportunities for need-based financial aid. Application fees will also be waived.
