Members of Fresno Pacific University’s Delta Kappa Lambda Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society of Social Work put compassion into action at Fresno’s Poverello House, distributing clothing, organizing donations and painting the women’s shelter. The project took place November 11-12, 2023, in conjunction with the Social Work Program’s Learn@Lunch webinar, which taught members about homelessness in local communities and how they can support and advocate for individuals and families who are unhoused. Students from FPU’s Merced Campus and Visalia Campus joined those from the main campus.
The social work department hosts virtual meetings on social issues that impact our community on the first Wednesday of the month from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Learn @ Lunch | Fresno Pacific University
