The Fresno Pacific University basketball teams officially signed a pair of local recruits November 24, 2018, at the SEC on the main campus during an inspirational Team IMPACT Draft Day. The women’s team inked Norah Kerr and the men’s team signed D.J. Bledsaw to National Letters of Intent, sponsored by Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

Team IMPACT is a nationwide non-profit organization that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. Norah lives with Dandy-Walker Syndrome, and Dominic is one of 30,000 people in the United States living with cystic fibrosis (CF).

With roughly 50 people in attendance, Norah and Dominic signed their letters of intent and were presented team gear as they officially joined the rosters for FPU.

“D.J. has been a great source of inspiration for our team. His toughness, his enthusiasm for life, and his nonstop energy are all things we find admirable, and he's a great joy to be around,” said C.J. Haydock men’s basketball head coach. “We are thrilled to add him as a member of our team, and look forward to continue to learn and grow together with him.”

The women’s team defeated Pacific Union that evening with their newest signee on the Sunbird bench.

“We have enjoyed getting to know Norah and her family and we are very excited to officially add Norah to our roster,” head coach Tim Beauregard said. “She is the exact kind of recruit that we look for. She is enthusiastic, smart and a great teammate. This is a huge addition for our team.”
