This year's event took place Tuesday, November 26, hosted by the Office of Spiritual Formation. About 900 students, faculty, administrators and staff dug into Pioneer Catering's turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie in the Special Events Center on the main FPU campus. Annual highlights included the Parade of Nations, where international students from 42 nations carried their flags into the SEC, and the table decorating contest, this year won by the Commuter/Student Exec & Student Financial Services, Traditional Undergraduate Admissions and Residence Life/Student Life offices. The theme was Agriculture in the Central Valley, suggested by Fay Nielsen, Ph.D., associate dean for retention.
University Pastor Angulus Wilson acted as master of ceremonies and speakers included Karen Cianci, Ph.D., dean of the School of Natural Sciences, as well as President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., and his wife, Virginia. Music was provided by the Brass Ensemble, led by Wayne Huber, associate professor of music; and the Concert Choir, led by Zachary Durlam, D.M.A., assistant professor of music, who also led the singing of the congregational hymn and the FPU Alma Mater.
