Among those expected to participate are 131 graduates of the bachelor's degree completion program, 74 graduate students, 45 from the traditional undergraduate program and one from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary.

Commencement begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Special Events Center (SEC) on the main Fresno Pacific University campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno. (The SEC is at the corner of Winery and Hamilton, with general parking off that corner, and parking for people with handicaps off Hamilton behind the Steinert Campus Center.)

The speaker will be Lynne Ashbeck, Mayor of the City of Clovis and member of the FPU Board of Trustees. As part of her government service, she founded the Clovis Citizen's Academy and is active with the League of California Cities Institute for Local Government. Professionally, Ashbeck is the regional vice president for the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California. She is also a senior mediator/facilitator with the Center for Collaborative Policy, California State University, Sacramento. Prior to joining the Hospital Council, Ashbeck served as extension programs director at California State University, Fresno; director of education at Children's Hospital Central California; and vice president for program services for the Dairy Council of California. A registered dietician, Ashbeck completed bachelor's and master's degrees from CSUF and a master's in conflict resolution and peacemaking from Fresno Pacific University.
