Ministry Quest hires program director

Ministry Quest, a leadership development program of MB Biblical Seminary, has named Mike Rea to the position of Program Director. The new position, based on the Seminary's Fresno, California campus, will give direction to MQ's high school program.

Rea, a native of the Central Valley (Reedley/Fresno) and graduate of Fresno Pacific University, worked with MQ from 2004-2006 in a shared role with Mennonite Central Committee. Over the past two years he has been leading an internship development program with UrbanPromise in Vancouver, British Columbia. In addition to his new role with MQ, Rea will also work towards completing his Master of Arts in Business Leadership from Trinity Western University.

"Mike brings great leadership skills, abilities, and experiences to his position," says Cam Priebe, Director of Ministry Quest.

MQ's high school program is a one-year leadership program for 11th and 12th grade students who have been nominated by their church. Along with two retreats, the students participate in mentoring relationships with a leader from their congregation, ministry observations and a short-term ministry experience.

Ministry Quest expands its reach
Rea's position is a timely addition as Priebe is turning much of his attention to the growing opportunities that MQ has to further resource and equip the Canadian and United States Mennonite Brethren conferences and colleges. These opportunities include providing "call retreats," resources for internships/supervisors, and further training in leadership development. The addition of Rea will allow MQ to maintain a strong focus on the high school program.
