Jaime Ramirez wins award for excellence, will add key post on community soccer team to FPU duties

Jaime Ramirez, head men's soccer coach, was named winner of the 2020 Latino Coaches Award for Excellence from the United Soccer Coaches Latino Advocacy Group. “Beyond your impressive record at Fresno Pacific, we value your continued positive impact to the Latino community, your use of the beautiful game to teach your student-athletes life skills, and your exemplary leadership on and off the field,” wrote Mauricio Lozada, USCLAG Recognition Committee Chair. The award was presented at the group’s virtual convention in January. In December it was announced that Jaime would oversee development of the new Fresno Fuego soccer team as sporting director. Ramirez served as the inaugural coach of the previous Fresno Fuego team from 2003-2007. thebusinessjournal.com/new-fuego-soccer-team-makes-high-profile-hire/
