Teaching full-time at FPU for the 2010–2011 school year after teaching adjunct in 2009-2010, Isaak served at MB Biblical Seminary, Fresno, for 12 years: as associate professor of New Testament from 2004-2010 and as assistant professor of New Testament from 1998–2004. He has also taught at McGill University, been a missionary with Mennonite Brethren Mission and Service International and a high school teacher in Manitoba.
In June Isaak will return to his native Winnipeg, Manitoba, as director of the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies there. Winnipeg is one of three centers for MB studies, the others being in Fresno, California, and Hillsboro, Kansas. His wife, Mary Anne, is pastor at River East Mennonite Brethren Church, Winnipeg.
Jon Isaak earned a Ph.D. from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; an M.A. from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, Fresno California; a B.R.S. from Concord College, Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; a B.Sc. from the University of Winnipeg; and a diploma from Winkler Bible Institute, Winkler, Manitoba.
