Sandra Frisby appointed to state early childhood education assessment team

Sandra Frisby, Ed.D., assistant professor and associate director of the early childhood development program, was in February 2021 appointed to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) Early Childhood Education Teaching Performance Assessment (ECE CalTPA) Design Team. Over the next two years, the design team will be involved in the state early childhood education program by advising CCTC staff and the technical contractor, Evaluation Systems group of Pearson (ES), on developing performance assessment tasks and analytic scoring rubrics. The team will also assist with candidate and program materials, a program orientation process, assessor training, guidance for calibration and recalibration processes for local scoring, pilot testing and final revisions to the performance assessment tasks and materials. The work of the team begins in March 2021 and continues until December 2022. Frisby was one of more than 75 applicants for the position.
