Valerie G. Rempel, Ph.D., vice president and dean of Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, was voted an institutional commissioner for the Association of Theological Schools Board of Commissioners (term through 2026) at the ATS virtual convention June 24-25, 2020. The board is responsible for all decisions related to the accreditation status of ATS member schools, including evaluation, program approval and ongoing conformance to the Standards of Accreditation. More than 270 graduate schools of theology in the United States and Canada form The Association of Theological Schools. According to its website, the mission of ATS is to “promote the improvement and enhancement of theological schools to the benefit of communities of faith and the broader public.” Member schools “conduct post-baccalaureate professional and academic degree programs to educate persons for the practice of ministry and for teaching and research in the theological disciplines.” More at ats.edu/accrediting/overview-accrediting/board-commissioners
