Baker publishes book chapter on Christian influences in politics

Mark Baker, Ph.D., professor of mission and theology, is the author of a chapter in the book Political Illusion and Reality: Engaging the Prophetic Insights of Jacques Ellul, edited by David Gill and David Lovekin and published by Pickwick Publications, 2018. His chapter is titled “Bringing Ellul to the City Council: Mayor Robb Davis Reflects on Ellul’s Influence.” Baker interviewed Davis, whose term as mayor in Davis, CA, ended in 2018. Davis is a former executive director of Mennonite Central Committee, the Christian international relief organization, and spent more than 20 years working in food security and child and maternal health. In the chapter, Davis talks about his role as a political leader in light of his Christian identity.
