FPU foundation board adds member, reports assets

Reports on charitable trusts and scholarship endowments highlighted meetings of the Fresno Pacific University Foundation Board of Trustees Oct. 27-28.

The foundation currently manages and is named beneficiary of 45 trusts with assets totaling more than $13 million, according to Mark Deffenbacher, foundation executive director. The $3,362,918 in permanently and temporarily restricted endowments overseen by the foundation include about 54 scholarship funds.

Board members added Jon Hillen, a member of the board at the Activities Integrating Mathematics and Science (AIMS) Educational Foundation, to the panel. The group also reappointed Ted Thiesen, Tim Franz and Waymon Watts to three-year terms.

Fresno Pacific University is an accredited Christian university. Located on a 42-acre, park-like campus in southeast Fresno, FPU has an enrollment of more than 1,700 students -- half graduate and half undergraduate. The university also enrolls 12,000 students annually in its professional development studies programs offered locally and throughout the world.
