Kopriva prepares to present at national ACRES conference

A proposal by Peter Kopriva, Ed.D., and Sijmontje Renema-Kopriva, M.A., “Using Your Heart as a Compass: Reflective Preparation and Practice in Teaching,” was accepted as a Promising Practices Session for Practitioners for the 2016 ACRES (American Council on Rural Special Education) Conference March 9-12 in Las Vegas, NV.

Kopriva is professor of early childhood development and special education at FPU. Renema-Kopriva is a special education elementary classroom teacher of students living with physical and health impairments at Edith Storey Elementary School in Fresno Unified School District. The couple does research in learning and social understanding/competence, writing and presenting locally, statewide and nationally. In the future they hope to write and illustrate children’s literature together.
