Biblical and religious studies faculty present at virtual conferences

Three faculty from the Biblical & Religious Studies Division gave presentations associated with the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the American Academy of Religion (AAR)/Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) virtual conferences November and December. ETS usually meets adjacent to the annual AAR/SBL combined meetings: Melanie Howard, Ph.D., assistant professor and program director of biblical and theological studies, presented “How Do I Look? Engaging Visual Representations of Jesus to Introduce the Gospel of Matthew” to the SBL December 2. Brian Schultz, Ph.D., associate professor of biblical and theological studies, presented “Homework Activities for Bolstering Reading Comprehension” to the National Association of Professors of Hebrew at SBL December 2, and “Teaching Hebrew Discourse Analysis: Pedagogical Considerations” to ETS November 16. Laura Schmidt Roberts, Ph.D., professor of biblical and theological studies, was part of an AAR panel discussing themes from Recovering from the Anabaptist Vision, a book Roberts co-edited.
