Allen Carden, Ph.D., professor of history, coauthored the book, Abraham Lincoln and His Times A Sourcebook on His Life, His Presidency, Slavery and Civil War, with Thomas Ebert, retired Fresno State librarian and administrator. The two compiled and edited the volume, a reference book that includes over 380 documents, chronologies of significant events, 428 biographical entries of persons of historical interest between 1809 and 1866, and a preface and introductory essay for each of eight chapters. It was published by McFarland Publishers in North Carolina.
